A Practical Grammar for Classical Hebrew by J. Weingreen. This was my Hebrew textbook. Here is a Unnofficial Answer Key to Weingreen's grammar by Jason Hare. I prefere this grammar because it teaches the alphabet first and emphasizes developing high level transcription skills which help students develop a strong foundation for furture study. I recommend dividing the 22 letter alphabet two groups of 12 letters each. Students should write the alphabet EVERYDAY until they know it by heart including the vowels. 

Introductory Hebrew Grammar (1950) by R. Laird Harris has some attractive features for beginners. 

Learn Biblical Hebrew  by John Dobson. This link is to a free pdf, perfect for studying from a tablet.  Here is a link to purchase the paperback. The following audio tracks go with the program.

Learn How to Read Hebrew in ONE HOUR! An excellent, interactive YouTube teaching all the letters. 

Here is a Hebrew Diaglot featuring parallel BHS (full apparatus) and ESV on facing pages. 

Here is the Hebrew-English Diaglot one of my students is using.  The Hebrew is very clear and easy to read. It has very useful comments, making it something of a concise Hebrew Study Bible. The text are side by side on the same page. This is convenient and makes for a smaller book, but the print is smaller. The Hebrew text has no appartus. 

Hebrew Alphabet Flashcards. These are the best I have ever seen. The reverse side has all the information you need to know about the letters. 

The Step Bible Hebrew app can be very helpful. Here is a video explaining How to Access the Step Bible Greek & Hebrew Text and Lexicons. 

The Concise Classical Dictionary of Classical Hebrew (Eng. & Heb. Ed.) The most up-to-date and easiest to use. Does not contain transliterations. By the time a student is ready to use the dictionary, he or she should not need transcriptions.
